I was asked the question why was Julian Assange a bad guy and Edward Snowden a hero?
My take on this question is that Snowden with his leak woke up America to how it's government is spying on it's people.
Assange was basically an aggregator of information like the Drudge Report. We have a case of apples and oranges.
But, let's compare Snowden to Manning who leaked the info to Assange. Now that's a just comparison.
Manning's release of top secret information of communiques affected our foreign relations and exposed our diplomatic tactics around the world thus undermining our effectiveness.
But, it did not directly involve the well being of the American people. It did not expose the violation of our Constitution. It did not point the finger of guilt at the President of the United States. - N.P.Contompasis
