Aban actually had no idea what he was carrying that cloudless night when Dave’s hit team came across him on a remote mountain trail used only by herders. Aban was actually lost and was trying to get his bearings when he stumbled into the C.I.A. snare. After weeks of analyzing Aban’s harddrives it was obvious to the Agency that he was carrying the plans for future attacks on the West. The plans were so troubling they were reported to the President in his normal daily security briefing. Dave authored those reports, so the President knew everything that Dave wanted him to know and not know. Dave was smart and knew since the President and the people around him couldn’t be trusted he needed to make sure that any information given to the President wouldn’t jeopardize his teams and didn’t expose areas that he was developing. One of those areas was al-Qaeda’s possession of nuclear weapons. Aban’s information disclosed that they had in their possession over fifty suitcase-type nuclear devices that were armed and placed in various parts of the world.
This plan was right out of a Hollywood movie where the evil maniacal villain threatens the world with nuclear destruction. The plans weren’t quite that bad but could be bad enough to disrupt commerce and send most civilians into hiding.
It was through a Tehran-Caracas-Mexican mob network that the smuggled suitcase nukes came into America over its southern border. The nukes were also placed at key European sites that represent national identity such as in France at the Eiffel Tower, in England at the House of Parliament, in Germany at the Brandenburg Gate and finally in Sweden’s Government Center. The computers showed a Taliban-al-Qaeda-Iranian force that was at the heart of the attacks, which was no surprise to Dave.
It was still vague as to where the nukes were in America but Dave was working on that one feverishly and was getting close to the answer.
The President was advised about the nukes this week at his Tuesday briefing. Of course, Dave knew about it six weeks prior when his men first found the file that contained instructions to the Venezuelan operatives that carried the cases to Mexico by boat. It appeared the complete transfer regarding the North American suitcase nukes was by low tech transportation, avoiding any encounter with x-ray machines and customs agents.
Dave would have loved to have informed the President sooner, but people close to the President couldn’t be trusted, and now with a Muslim prayer rug in the White House being used by the leader of the free world, Dave was on thin ice as the 609th day of the Obama Presidency hugged Rahm Emanuel so hard he could feel a bulge in his pants.
