Janet Napolitano is an Ass

As I dithered my life away on the white sandy beaches of South Florida from the late ‘70s to the early ‘80s I lived amongst a den of pirates who basically took over the economy and politics of our southernmost state. The drug trade had so consumed the state it was calculated that 20% of the value of real estate in the south was due to the ever dominant drug trade that was coming from the country of Colombia. This money and violence touched just about everyone in one way or another. It was not until 1984 that Vice President George Bush’s zero tolerance program changed the playing field.
It was simple, find a joint on your yacht, the government owns your yacht and you. Find a pipe in your car, they own your car and you. It was harsh but it worked. It brought the drug traffic to a trickle and of course real estate prices crashed, but it became a safer place to live.
One has to remember a little about mobster history in Chicago too. Elliott Ness went after Alfonse Capone for income tax evasion. The FBI had a problem proving Capone was the murdering mobster he was. So by using this new and obscure law the FBI quickly got this thug off the streets forever.
Now, we have a new law in Arizona that gives law enforcement the power to stop, question, detain, and fine people who look like they don’t belong here. This is a powerful tool that will help them slow down the Mexican drug cartel's operations on this boarder state. You see, up until now Arizona police had to have evidence to prosecute. That takes time and money. With this law, they can get the bad guys off the street and keep them off, fast.
So the brilliance of this law is in the simplicity, effectiveness and its overall cost savings which history has proven to be the right path.
I'm sorry for the irrelevant title of this article, it was just a little something I felt compelled to write.

  3. I agree on the point "Janet Napolitano is an Ass,
But the AZ, part sells AZ law enforcement very short. If you have read the new law then you don't understand it. Plus it has been changed already to futher inhibit R/P.. Let the law work a while we will see very good results. My point of view may be influenced by being a former Police Officer. But I know from where I speak. I hope the KY legislature passes one for us.
